Vinnies Support Services
VINNIES PROVIDE SUPPORT, PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE AND HELP TO THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO COPE WITH LIFE'S CHALLENGES. WE OFFER OUR SERVICES TO ALL.
Our Services
- Practical Help – We connect you with agencies who can assist.
- Financial Help – We can refer you to a budgeter who can help you manage your money.
- Baby Equipment – We provide essential items such as cots, bassinets, pushchairs and highchairs.
- Clothing & Linen – We ensure you and your family have clothing and bedding to stay safe and comfortable.
The Society supports families facing financial hardship by helping them find the assistance they need to get back on track. We offer practical help for those struggling to provide the essentials—beds, food, clothing and other essential household items. Financial mentoring (budgeting) is also available by appointment.
Anyone can apply for help and support from the Society. Many requests are received, so financial applications are reviewed by our Committees (“Conferences”). Assistance is prioritised for those who can demonstrate they are working toward long-term positive change.

Testimonial – Jo-Ann Bester, Tauranga
"I came to New Zealand 2 years ago... I literally had nothing – if it wasn’t for Vinnies, I have no idea what I would have done. They helped us through extremely difficult times with food, furniture, warm clothing and ongoing care. I will be forever grateful."
"When my situation worsened, I knew I could turn to Vinnies again. Their passion for helping others is incredible. Without their support, I might have ended up in my car with my two children. Thank you Vinnies for your ongoing support."
